Ramona Bolin, BSN, PA-C, is an experienced physician assistant dedicated to providing comprehensive family medicine and primary care services for patients throughout Headland, Alabama, and the surrounding Wiregrass communities. With more than two decades of experience serving local families, she is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered healthcare and helping patients achieve their long-term health goals.
Since 2002, Ramona has worked alongside Dr. Niel Rasmussen at Headland Family Medicine, building lasting relationships with patients and providing continuity of care across generations. Her extensive clinical background and deep roots in the Wiregrass region allow her to combine medical expertise with a personal understanding of the community she serves.
Before becoming a physician assistant, Ramona built a successful nursing career at Southeast Health. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1987, she returned to Dothan and joined the Southeast Health Emergency Department. During her 13 years there, she served as a staff nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, and Nurse Manager, gaining extensive clinical and leadership experience in emergency medicine.
In 1999, Ramona chose to further her medical training by entering the Physician Assistant Program at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. After completing the program, she returned to the Wiregrass area and began her family medicine career at Headland Medical Clinic, serving alongside the late Dr. J.E. Morriss, Jr. in 2001.
A native of the Cottonwood community and graduate of Cottonwood High School, Ramona has remained deeply connected to the area she calls home. Her longstanding commitment to family medicine reflects her passion for serving local individuals and families with high-quality, accessible healthcare.
Ramona is a Fellow of the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is also an active member of Cottonwood First Baptist Church.
Outside of work, Ramona enjoys spending time with her family, working in her yard, walking her dog, and cheering on Auburn University football.
