Dr. Rasmussen
Headland Doctor, Dr. Rasmussen grew up in Vincent, Alabama where he attended Coosa Valley Academy. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Birmingham-Southern College in 1991. In 1996 he graduated with honors from UAB School of Medicine. While in medical school he was elected membership into the Pathology Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in 1999 from Medical Center East Family Practice Residency in Birmingham Alabama, where he graduated as chief resident. While in residency he worked in several family practice and urgent care clinics throughout the Birmingham area.
Dr. Rasmussen began his career in Clanton, Alabama at Chilton Family Medicine. In 2002, Dr. Rasmussen and his family moved from Clanton to Headland where he took over the medical practice of the late Dr. Edwin Morriss, Jr.
Dr. Rasmussen is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and is board certified. He is a recipient of the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama Physician’s Recognition Award. He is a current member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Southern Medical Association and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Rasmussen is on staff at Southeast Health.
Dr. Rasmussen and his wife Amy have three daughters. They are both first and foremost Christians. They are both active members of First Baptist Church of Headland and teach Sunday School together. Dr. Rasmussen enjoys personal time with his family, church, and distance running.
Ramona Bolin BSN, PA-C
Ramona grew up in the Cottonwood community and graduated from Cottonwood High School. Upon graduation in 1987 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, Ramona returned to Dothan and began her nursing career at Southeast Alabama Medical Center Emergency Department. She worked 13 years in the Emergency Department as staff nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, and then as Nurse Manager.
In 1999 she made the career change to Physician Assistant and entered the Physician Assistant Program at the University North Dakota School of Medicine. Upon graduation from Physician Assistant School, she began her career in Family Medicine at Headland Medical Clinic as Physician Assistant for the late Dr. JE Morriss, Jr. Since 2002 Ramona continues to serve the Headland area as a Physician Assistant for Dr. Niel Rasmussen at Headland Family Medicine Ramona is a Fellow of the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants, Association of Family Practice of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is an active member of Cottonwood First Baptist Church.
In her spare time, Ramona enjoys spending time with her family, working in her yard, walking her dog, and Auburn Football. WAR EAGLE !
